Accelerator Program Director

Under the direction of the Managing Director, this position is responsible for the day to day management and execution of program activities, as well as developing and maintaining the partnerships associated with the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator. As directed by the Managing Director, the individual will develop and implement project plans and budgets, with input and buy-in from key stakeholders, internal team members, and partnership investors. This role will work to ensure the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator meets set metrics and schedules, and will support development of relationships with program mentors, investors, and other partners. The Program Director will also provide mentoring to companies based on his or her background and areas of expertise in the healthcare industry.

Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator team to develop strategic goals and implement the tactics to achieve such goals;

  • Outreach in the healthcare, investor and/or start-up community to maintain and develop new partnerships and mentors in support of the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator;

  • Recruiting and supporting the selection process for companies to participate in the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator;

  • In support of the above, representing the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator at conferences and events;

  • Mentoring companies during and after their time in the program.

Up to 30% travel will be required, particularly during recruitment.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MPH, MHA or other advanced degree preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Minimum 5-8 years healthcare industry experience


License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

None


Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry, including previous experience at a large health system, healthcare IT vendor, digital health startup, or healthcare investment firm

  • Experience with early-stage startups and/or innovation/entrepreneurship programs, including interaction with founders and CEOs

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, start-ups, community groups and/or government agencies.

  • Development and management of project budgets

  • Experience in completing market analysis and research, specifically in healthcare

  • Previous success in an externally facing role with significant amounts of public interaction

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and previous experience in using user-friendly SaaS systems (MailChimp, Affinity, Google Docs, SquareSpace or similar products)

Physical Demands:

May need to lift up to 35 lbs to help with setting up events

May need to attend day-long conferences or events with limited opportunities to sit down


Recruiting Lead

Under the direction of the Managing Director, this position is responsible for identifying and engaging promising healthcare startups for participation in the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program. This role will support the entire life cycle of the application and selection process, from researching companies and building a pipeline, to interacting with companies and founders, to managing logistics of the application submission and review process including organizing selection committee. This role will be critical in supporting the success of the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program through recruitment of high quality program participants, and the Recruiting Lead will work closely with the entire Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program staff.

Tasks will include, but not be limited to, conducting research to identify companies, managing a database of potential companies, and conducting telephone calls and in-person meetings with founders. This role will be responsible for administrative and logistical coordination of meetings related to recruitment. This role will also help to refine application processes, including management of application management software. Some travel may be required to support the Accelerator program at conferences and events.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Experience in completing market analysis and research, specifically in healthcare

  • Experience in creating and managing replicable processes for managing administrative information, particularly in the form of CRMs

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and previous experience in using user-friendly SaaS systems (MailChimp, Affinity, Google Docs, SquareSpace or similar products)
